Horrible
Horrible design. Getting the Kettle in the machine is a nightmare, the support arms are flimsy which causes the alignment to be off, the inside of the machine is tiny which adds to the difficultly of inserting the kettle. On my first batch of popcorn, the stirrer became stuck which caused the popcorn to burn. Something is horribly wrong with the manufacturer of these popping machines or this series. On the website the power is listed as 840 watts but a sticker on the back of the machine says 600 watts which is the same power rating as the 4 oz machine. Which leads to the other problem, this machine kicks out 1/3 of the kernels unpopped in a 6 oz batch. I've ordered a case of 4 oz kits; we'll see how that does. As everyone always says, you get what you pay for, I'll give this toy machine to someone who will probably use it very little and I'll purchase a commercial machine. 6-11-2011 EPM-550
Popcorn Machine
I really like this popcorn machine for its looks. It goes great in our "movie room" and makes great tasting popcorn.
The directions were a little confusing but after using it a time or two it was very simple. Don't overthink it, it is just popcorn!
My only complaint is that this particular model does not have the bottom warming tray so the popcorn cannot sit in it for extended periods. Up to this point that hasn't made much difference as we tend to eat it right away and then have to make another batch.
It is large enough for 4-6 people easily but small enough not to be overwhelming in a room.
Overall, it is a great addition to any movie room and makes watching movies that much more enjoyable.
