Not so good
I tried several times and it just doesn't work. I let it go for 4 hours and still nothing. The bowl moves not the mixer and it seems nothing gets mixed. I had to stir it myself every half hour and it still never made ice cream. I ended up with very cold chocolate milk.
Worthless, useless, waste of money and time
I was so excited to get an ice cream maker, especially when I found this one at the store for such a low price. I should have known it was too good to be true. Frankly, I'm not sure how Sunbeam/Rival can sell this thing at all, since it is impossible to make ice cream with it. To me, that sounds like some kind of fraud on Sunbeam's part. I'm not exaggerating -- I believe it is actually impossible to make ice cream using this ice cream maker, without augmenting it with other mechanisms or running it in a walk-in freezer. If I hadn't been able to get a refund, I might have looked into reporting this to the government or a consumer protection agency. It is that bad. I don't think it's possible that the people at Sunbeam really believe that this thing works, so I can only conclude that they either don't care or are trying to fleece people.

This ice cream maker is not the best, but it is certainly not the worst. In 30 minutes we had a soft serve consistancy. We added 1/4 cup of rock salt on each side instead of 1/8 cup on each side. The on negative thing is that the motor is quite loud.
