Another terrible Sunbeam appliance
This review in no way reflects poorly on any Amazon seller as it pertains only to the Sunbeam manual snow cone maker. Once again I find myself sitting here with no snow, just a pile of large ice chips and nothing to pour my lemon lime syrup onto! My last review detailed how poorly the Sunbeam Igloo snow cone maker performed, so I went out and got this hand crank machine hoping my fierce power could crank out the snow. Good thing, because you need to be strong to crank this machine. Even so, the large ice chips look like the stuff that your refrigerator ice crusher produces. The problem is poor engineering, as the blades are simply too far away from the chute to make snow. This time I am including a picture rather than rant for another thousand words. Also i must point out that Sunbeam has not yet responded to my earlier email complaint. To be fair with full disclosure, I separated the smaller ice chunks so you can see the large ones, but about half of the "snow" is this big...
It's awful!
Used once, this is going right back! The snow cone maker just makes big ice chips that you are supposed to pour syrup over. It is not fluffy snow. You might as well just use your refrigerator ice crusher. It doesn't crank smoothly, either. I had to exert too much effort for a little snow cone maker and because of this the top kept unlocking. I got this for my kids and it was a real disappointment all around.
